When you choose L7, you are choosing a partner who is on your side, dedicated to helping you achieve a successful outcome and reclaim your peace of mind.

Our expertise covers claims resulting from various events, including:

  • Natural Disasters: We handle claims for damages caused by hurricanes, tornadoes, hail, and severe windstorms.

  • Water Damage: This includes claims from burst pipes, sewer backups, roof leaks, and other forms of water intrusion.

  • Structural and Impact Damage: We manage claims where a home or commercial building has been impacted by a vehicle, fallen trees, or other foreign objects.

  • Biohazard and Fire Damage: We provide expert assistance with claims involving fire and smoke damage, as well as biohazard incidents that require specialized cleanup and restoration.

Our focus is on helping policyholders, like homeowners and business owners, who are facing underpaid, denied, or complicated claims. Our goal is to level the playing field, ensuring your insurance company pays what they truly owe under your policy.

Here's a breakdown of how it works:

1. The Dispute: The process begins when the policyholder and the insurance company disagree on the amount of loss. This means they agree that the damage is covered by the policy but can't agree on how much it will cost to repair or replace the damaged property.

2. Invoking the Appraisal Clause: Either the policyholder or the insurance company can "invoke appraisal" by sending a written demand to the other party, as specified in the insurance policy.

3. Selecting Appraisers: Once the demand is made, both parties select their own appraiser. The appraisers must be "competent and impartial." The insurance company hires their appraiser, and the policyholder hires theirs (that's where we come in). Our role is to act as your expert representative, creating a comprehensive estimate and advocating for the full scope of work.

4. The Umpire: The two appraisers then work together to choose a neutral third party called an "umpire." If they can't agree on an umpire, a judge can be asked to appoint one.

5. The Appraisal: The two appraisers independently assess the damage and prepare their own estimates. They then meet to try and agree on the amount of the loss. This is where the quality of the appraiser's work really matters—a detailed, well-documented estimate makes it much easier to reach a fair agreement.

6. The Final Decision: If the two appraisers agree on an amount, that is the final, binding settlement. If they disagree, they submit their differences to the umpire. A final decision agreed upon by any two of the three (your appraiser and the umpire, or the insurance company's appraiser and the umpire) becomes the final, binding settlement.

The appraisal process is an excellent option for a couple of key reasons:

  • It's Binding: Once an appraisal award is issued, it's legally binding, which provides a definitive resolution to the dispute without the need for a protracted legal battle.

  • It's Efficient: It's generally much faster and less expensive than going to court.

  • It's Specialized: The process is handled by industry experts who understand the nuances of construction, repair costs, and policy language, rather than a judge or jury who may not have that expertise.

At L7 Claim Resolution, we are your advocate throughout this entire process, ensuring that your side of the claim is presented with the highest level of detail and professionalism.
